Who Is Kelly Chapman?

Kelly Chapman was born in Waterville, Maine in 1978 and relocated to Las Vegas in 1979 with her mother, Kathy.

Growing up on the east side of Las Vegas, Chapman developed an in-depth understanding of the local community. She completed her education at Chaparral High School in 1996 and that same year, welcomed her son, Austin, into the world. Witnessing the challenges faced by two generations within the Clark County School district, Chapman is motivated to drive positive change for both students and teachers in Assembly District 8.

In 1999, Chapman embarked on a career in the casino industry, starting as a blackjack dealer. As a third-generation casino employee, her expertise and dedication swiftly propelled her to a managerial role as a Table Games Pitboss. Her experience in this diverse environment has honed her ability to connect with individuals of varied ages, races, cultures, and socioeconomic backgrounds—skills invaluable for a political career.

Tragedy struck in 2012 when a close friend of Chapman's was murdered by a handyman, prompting her to become a vocal advocate for domestic violence victims and the Second Amendment.

She firmly believes in the importance of empowering women to protect themselves and their families.

With a vision for a safer community, Chapman aims to introduce more supportive programs to assist women and children in escaping abusive situations where they may feel financially or emotionally trapped.

Being a lifelong resident of Nevada, Kelly Chapman possesses a nuanced understanding of the challenges and aspirations of the people, especially those in Assembly District 8.

With a commitment to service, she is determined to build a stronger and more inclusive Nevada for all its residents.
